It's always hard to start something isn't it? Almost as hard as it is to stop. Life has a funny way of starting over and over again like a butterfly eating itself. Sometimes it is a comfort to know we are such an infinitesimally small piece of this incredibly stupid universe we are stuck in. Part of a community, a culture, a nation, a planet, a solar system, a galaxy. Every day communication gets a little faster and the stars get that much closer. As for me, I'm just another speck of dust in the last sloppy dregs of sunlight. I've lived, and I've been hurt. I've been hurt by many and more than most. And just when I thought things were starting to take an upturn, a new trauma, exponentially worse than the rest combined, slammed me against the floor like a hammer made of diamond and regret and tears and a thousand unknown substances that boil me from the inside and freeze me from the out.But despite how much I may beg of this stupid universe to just let me off this ride, I'm still moving. I'm still going. All I can do now is try to be who I was born to be if I am even capable of being myself ever again.I am a science fiction author. I am a poet. I am an essayist. I am a screenwriter.I am a storyteller. And I have a story to tell you.

Poetry Form - The Half Dot Dash Couplet

CATEGORY: Poetry

The Half Dot Dash Couplet Overview The Dot Dash Couplet is a two-line rhyming form built on a fixed syllable pattern of alternating short and long beats, developed for narrative poetry that moves in self-contained bursts. The structure is patterned after Morse code ("dot" and "dash"), with each unit representing a syllable, and each "dash" sharing a consistent rhyme sound within the couplet. The form's compression creates a strong, rhythmic drive that suits both light and dark subject matter. Structure Stanza Length: - 2 lines per stanza (may be used as a standalone or repeated modularly)…

Software and Secrets

AUGUST 11 2025
CATEGORY: Writing

I've been going through my writing process of late, and trying to streamline, improve, upgrade, or downgrade, as the case may be. With the changing pace of the world and software, I want to make sure I move with it, well enough to stay relevant and secure. For writing, I've been using a mixture of Scrivener on Windows, Scrivener on iPhone/iPad, and Apple Notes. Also, I have fallen in love with Aeon Timeline, for timeline work. Still looking for a good genealogy software that works with my brain and works with custom years as well, like Aeon Timeline does. Knowing me, I probably already have software that will do it, but just don't realize it! I also use Word, Scapple, MindMapPro, and more. If you have any suggestions on good software for writers, whether in browser or not, drop me a line and let me know about it.
